Douglas Hauptman has spent his entire professional journey helping people believe in their potential and guiding them toward meaningful success. His work has always centered on small business owners, especially those in the beauty industry, and he views this focus as both a responsibility and a privilege. He believes small businesses are the real force behind economic growth, innovation, and community well-being. Because of this, he sees his recent recognition as a fitting milestone in a career built on empowering others. To him, the award is meaningful because it shines a light on small business mentoring, something he feels has not received the level of attention it deserves. His dedication across industries, from beauty to technology, has always been rooted in teaching, coaching, and helping people grow into leaders who can create sustainable success. We at CIO Global are proud to name Douglas Hauptman as the Transformational Life Coach and Professional Development Mentor of the Year 2025.

Throughout his career, Douglas has believed that personal transformation and business outcomes are closely connected. He works with the idea that success begins with passion and a deep personal desire to grow. In his view, people cannot perform at a high level unless they care for their entire well-being. Exercise, mental health, and emotional stability are not separate from business performance; they are essential to it. He encourages people to embrace a lifestyle that is fully aligned with their goals. For Douglas, success is not only about strategy. It is about the way people think, feel, and take care of themselves. When individuals bring discipline, resilience, and commitment into their personal lives, those same qualities naturally strengthen their businesses.

Personalized coaching creates leaders who can stand on their own and inspire others to grow.

Douglas has observed many leadership challenges in the modern world, especially among executives who may feel far removed from the day-to-day realities of small businesses. He often points out that small businesses make up a major portion of the economy, and yet many leaders overlook this. In his view, small business owners often act not as executives but as partners and teammates. They lead through connection, passion, and hands-on work. He believes large corporations would benefit greatly from studying how small businesses create loyal teams and steady progress despite limited resources. By recognizing these overlooked strengths, leaders at all levels can make decisions that are practical, compassionate, and grounded in the real world.

When it comes to helping clients move beyond stagnation, Douglas uses a simple but powerful methodology. He encourages people to embrace constant learning. His message is clear: keep reading, keep searching, keep exploring, and never sit still. Innovation, curiosity, and persistence form the foundation of his teaching. Douglas reminds his clients that failure is never the end. It is a stepping stone. He teaches them to rise, learn, adjust, and continue forward with clarity and determination. He places great value on singleness of purpose, where individuals fully commit to their growth and never lose sight of what they want to achieve. This mindset, he believes, is what leads to true transformation.

Douglas also distinguishes between high-performing professionals and transformational leaders. In his perspective, high performers often focus on numbers, external validation, and the expectations of others. They may achieve impressive results, but their vision can be influenced by outside pressures. Transformational leaders, however, maintain a pure vision. They do not allow external opinions to shape their direction. They persist with passion and lead others to heights they never imagined. Douglas teaches that transformational leadership requires courage, clarity, and a relentless desire to bring a vision to life. Through this approach, leaders do more than succeed; they inspire and elevate those around them.

A key part of Douglas’s coaching philosophy is individualized support. While systems and processes are useful, he believes they cannot replace human understanding. Every person has a unique background, unique dreams, and unique challenges. Because of this, Douglas invests time in getting to know each individual deeply. He listens carefully, observes thoughtfully, and adapts his coaching to match a person’s values, strengths, and ambitions. His approach is personalized and compassionate, rooted in the idea that people thrive when they feel understood and supported. For him, coaching is not a one-size-fits-all service but a meaningful partnership built on trust and respect.

Douglas also prioritizes mental well-being in his coaching. He believes that ambitious goals require a strong foundation of inner balance. He encourages clients to nurture their minds, bodies, and spirits. Without this balance, performance becomes fragile. When individuals care for themselves, they build resilience, creativity, and focus. Douglas teaches that strong vision, persistent effort, and deep self-care work together to fuel long-term success. He wants people to understand that taking care of their well-being is not a distraction from performance; it is the key to achieving high performance consistently.

Real success begins when people learn to believe in themselves and stay humble enough to keep learning.

Looking at the future of executive and professional coaching, Douglas has strong opinions about where the industry stands and where it needs to go. He believes many current coaching models are built on gimmicks rather than meaningful results. Automated programs and quick-solution formulas may look attractive, but they do not produce real transformation. For Douglas, the future of coaching must return to its roots: personal, honest, and intensive support. He believes that one-on-one coaching, built on real human connection, is what truly helps individuals grow. He hopes the industry moves away from surface-level approaches and returns to methods that genuinely change lives.

Throughout his years of coaching, Douglas has learned many lessons from the leaders and professionals he has supported. One lesson that continues to stand out is how difficult it is for people to recognize their own weaknesses. Many individuals struggle to accept their limitations or show themselves compassion. Growth requires honesty, humility, and the willingness to be teachable. Douglas sees these qualities as rare but essential. When people are able to look within themselves and embrace both their strengths and weaknesses, true development begins.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, Douglas has a clear vision for expanding his impact. His goal is to make Beauty Bar Wellness and Med Spa fully self-sufficient so it can operate smoothly even without his daily involvement. Once that foundation is secure, he plans to invest more time in expanding Mimosa Salon Suites. His aim is to add several new locations by 2028, bringing his values of quality, empowerment, and personal growth to even more communities. This expansion reflects his belief in building long-term, stable systems that help people find opportunities and success.

When measuring long-term transformation in his clients, Douglas believes the greatest sign of success is independence. He feels his work is truly complete only when the people he has coached can take what they have learned and apply it on their own. He wants them to be strong, confident, and capable of leading without his guidance. Over the years, he has witnessed many success stories that reflect this belief. He is not satisfied with surface-level improvement. He seeks to develop people who can step into leadership roles and even take his place one day. He sees this as the real meaning of sustainable success.

Douglas also shares insights on how organizations can create a culture of continuous learning. He believes that while technology and automation play important roles in today’s economy, compassion is even more essential. Organizations that value empathy, respect, and understanding create environments where people want to grow and contribute. Compassion toward customers, team members, and mentees not only builds a supportive culture but also strengthens business outcomes. Douglas encourages leaders to prioritize doing the right thing, being patient, and truly understanding the people they work with. In his experience, when leaders combine strong values with strong strategy, success becomes more achievable and more widespread.

As he reflects on his journey and looks to the future, Douglas remains grateful for the recognition he has received. He views awards not as personal victories but as reminders of the importance of human-centered growth. He hopes to continue raising awareness about the power of hands-on mentorship and remain an advocate for authentic, meaningful development. His mission for the years ahead is clear: to keep learning, keep teaching, and keep inspiring people to reach higher levels of confidence, capability, and success.

Passion, persistence, and purpose are the foundation of every true transformation.
